MIKADO is back! This small but enigmatic plant proved wildly popular last year. Given bright indirect light, and kept evenly moist, (think African Violet, but much easier), Syngonanthus chrysanthus ‘Mikado’ provides a nearly nonstop display that always spurs conversation. From its delicate grass-like foliage emerge multiple spindle of proudly held gold buds. (This is the only plant I know that naturally produces metallic cold color! - Truly a sight to see!) When mature, these buds reveal tiny, pure white, miniature chrysanthemum-like blooms. From New Zealand, Mikado is perfectly suited to the indoor temps of your home, but since it get way too warm in the greenhouse in summer, this is the only time of year we offer this botanical treasure.
